This is the close up look at how easy it will be for this rivet to rub the spar. I think I am going to carefully grind the back down a bit since the rivet isn't structural. I'll post a finished pic after my surgery.

ReplyDeleteThere are platenuts designed for these spots and they have both attaching rivets on the same (away from spar) side of the screw. There are other platenuts designed for tight corners that have the two attaching rivets at 90 degree angle. Buy some extras as you will run into these situations later.
